CDS Granted Licence to Operate Sufferance Warehouse
02-16-2011 Richmond B.C.
CDS Group of Companies announced today the granting of a licence by Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) to operate a customs sufferance warehouse at their warehouse facilities in Richmond (Vancouver), B.C.
The facilities will have a dedicated warehouse space for customers and service providers requiring bonded cargo services. Sufferance warehouse facilities are privately owned and operated facilities licensed by the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) for the control, short term storage, transfer, delivery and examination of in-bond goods until the goods are released by Customs or exported.
“With our close proximity to the Port of Vancouver, a key access point for import and export cargo to and from the Pacific Rim, it made sense for CDS to secure a sufferance warehouse licence to meet the expressed needs of our customers and strategic partners. It allows them to optimize their supply chain and reduce costs for importing, reduce handling and improve time to market for goods that are required to move in bond” said Ken Hanna, President of the CDS Group of Companies. “With a full suite of warehouse, import/export and freight solutions we offer greater flexibility and strive to save our clients both time and expense with a goal to improve their internal and external efficiencies. This is another important part of that equation.”
