President
Ken started from humble beginnings as a piano mover from Saskatchewan. In 1990, he set up shop in Vancouver with a complement of two staff and one truck. His service focus and can-do attitude soon resulted in five trucks and a small warehouse on Annacis Island. It was during this time that Ken’s business instincts recognized an unsatisfied need in the warehousing segment. In 1995, Ken established CDS as a one-stop shop multi-temperature, food accredited, warehousing solution for the food and beverage industry.
CDS-1 was Ken’s first building in Richmond. It boasted 125,000 square feet of freezer, cooler, and ambient storage. Ken was instrumental in the design of his buildings; he made sure every detail served the needs of his customers. A few years later, CDS Transportation and CDS Customs Services were born; these companies were the perfect complement to the business. Fast-forward over 2 decades, and CDS is a premier logistics operator in Canada. With over 800,000 square feet of warehousing coast to coast and over 200 employees, CDS is a full-service asset-based logistics organization. This allows us to provide efficient and cost-effective Supply Chain solutions to the food and beverage industry.
Ken believes his most significant asset is his people; he has surrounded himself with a talented group through respect, diversity, and maintaining a fun environment. “I don’t ask my staff to do something I would not do myself” is a rule he follows diligently. A natural pacesetter, Ken grows his organization by building strong bonds with his teams.
